Who we are
DailyWordJoy is a small service that emails you a new word each morning in the language you're learning, translated into your native language.
What data we store
- Your email address
- Your name (optional)
- Native and target language
- Selected theme (e.g. nature, emotions)
- Your timezone, so we can send the mail at 10:00 local time
- The date of the last delivery, so you don't get duplicates
- A unique unsubscribe token
Why we store it
Only to send the word of the day to the right person, in the right language, at the right time. That is the entire purpose.
What we don't do
- We never sell your data to third parties.
- We don't share your email address with advertisers.
- We don't track you across the web.
- We don't send marketing from other companies.
Who sees the data
The data lives in our database with our cloud provider and is used by our email provider (Resend) solely to deliver the email itself.
How long we keep it
As long as you're a subscriber. When you unsubscribe your account is marked as ended and no more mail is sent. You can ask us to delete your data entirely — see contact below.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to processing. The simplest way to stop is to click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
